You Choose You!
The exact implications of BC's Bill 36 is very
concerning. After two and a half years of being in the freedom movement, BILL 36 receiving royal ascent to pass, left me feeling numb, emotional and slightly defeated for two days. Feeling like I was at a point of no return - I was pleasantly surprised as I sat at my computer to get started on this newsletter - that my passion and energy started to increase...the Doritos no longer had power over me - lol
With the ups
and downs of fighting for our freedoms, a big question many of us have is how do we get/stay involved in the freedom movement while maintaining our physical and emotional health. How do we take care of ourselves and our loved ones while fighting for our rights and freedoms? To do this it is important to determine your capacity as some of us want to run a marathon while others like to take a slow peaceful walk through the forest. Either approach is
equally important!
Freedom Rising has developed a TAKE ACTION page that includes a wide range of initiatives that you can get involved in no matter what your capacity. There is something for
everyone. Choose the action of the week that works best for you - distribute educational information, create a candlelight vigil in your community, sign and share a petition, donate to the vax justice bus tour, write a letter to an elected official, get Druthers delivered in your neighborhood, join a parent group, attend a weekly VCC meeting, etc.
Ultimately, no matter what the challenge, I love my volunteer work
at Freedom Rising as it has led me to a community of like minded passionate people, it has made me feel valued and appreciated, it has allowed me to gain self awareness and confidence and - most of all - it has increased my love and compassion for all! Find a way to get involved by doing YOU!
